Eric Cady

For over a decade, Mr. Cady has helped small-to-medium sized businesses navigate the marketplace and regulatory landscape for audiovisual content.  Eric joins the IE Law Group from the Independent Film & Television Alliance® (“IFTA®”), the global trade association of independent producers and distributors of motion picture and television programming, where he focused on intellectual property matters, marketplace conditions, and government relations.  In addition to working closely with IFTA’s executive staff and board of directors on corporate and transactional matters, he supported IFTA’s 120+ member companies, across 23 countries by providing guidance on production, licensing, content protection, and other topics to address business challenges with adapting to emerging technologies.  Eric is also experienced in the prosecution and maintenance of a broad IP portfolio of U.S. and foreign trademarks, copyrights, and domain names with respect to IFTA and its annual industry trade event, the American Film Market®.

Mr. Cady began his legal career at IFTA in 2003 initially supporting the day-to-day operations of the Legal Department and its anti-piracy programs.  He holds a Juris Doctorate degree from Southwestern Law School and is a member of the State Bar of California.  Prior to law school, Eric earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a minor in economics from Loyola Marymount University. 

Originally from New York, Eric is a big fan of music, sports, nature and spending time with his family and friends.  He currently resides in the Los Angeles area with his wife, Jennifer, and Golden Retriever, Arnie.
