Maerjon graduated from Whittier Law School with a concentration in business and transactional law. She has focused the majority of her legal career on the interactive entertainment and corporate law space, drafting various deals concerning licensing, publishing, development and confidentiality, assisting in the closing of a multi-million-dollar corporate transaction, and successfully organizing multiple corporate entities from the ground up, including forming and guiding a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Corporation through incorporation to hosting a number of charitable events, all for clients in the video games, technology and digital media industries.
Prior to joining us at IE Law Group, Maerjon gained civil litigation experience in the real estate, automotive, employment and immigration law spaces where she drafted motions, written discovery, and demand letters, and prepared pre-litigation briefs and memoranda concerning copyright, trademark and patent law, consumer protection, fraud, lemon law, and product’s liability.
While in law school, she received CALI awards for achieving the highest grade in her Transactional Legal Writing and Employment Law classes. She was a Board member on the Student Bar Association, on the Trial Advocacy Honors Board, President of both the Tax Law Society and the Iranian Law Students Association, and Vice President of both the Entertainment & Sports Law Society’s Gaming section and the Women Law Students Association. In 2015, she also studied entertainment, international intellectual property and sports law at the University of Barcelona.
In her spare time, Maerjon enjoys playing video & board games, watching anime, reading manga, riding horses, singing, discovering new music, traveling and exploring new restaurants.
