Jordan Maggard

Associate

Jordan is a graduate of Chapman University’s Fowler School of Law, where he earned a certificate for completing its Entertainment Law Emphasis Program. This coursework included participation in Chapman’s Entertainment Law Clinic, where he worked directly with low budget independent filmmakers, serving as supervised production legal counsel for feature length motion pictures. He was also a member of Chapman’s Entertainment & Sports Law Society.

Prior to joining IE Law Group, Jordan provided general counsel services to small business clients with work that included drafting membership and operating agreements, employment agreements, purchase agreements, and privacy policies and terms of use. He also gained experience submitting and renewing trademark applications and copyright registrations and advised clients on compliance with the California Consumer Privacy Act and Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act.

Jordan also previously served as a civil litigator, where he defended clients from claims for copyright infringement and alleged violations of artists’ moral rights under the Visual Artists Rights Act and California Art Preservation Act. He also represented clients in employment and breach of contract disputes, as well as those asserting trade secret misappropriation claims. As a litigator he regularly drafted motions, demand letters, client memoranda, mediation and arbitration briefs, and settlement and release agreements.

In his free time Jordan enjoys traveling and spending time with his wife Shiva, hiking, going to the gym, reading, and playing video games.
